Hello again everyone! ❤ ❤ Happy February!

I’m very excited for this week’s blog and feel very blessed for how well 2014 has already been. For all you avid South Bay Digs readers out there, you may have caught a glimpse of Hunter Mason’s 2013 top realtors, Ursula Mix and yours truly! If you didn’t get a chance to see it in Digs or facebook/instagram posts from my ever supportive parents, brother, uncle, and boyfriend, I thought I’d share not only the page here, but also take some time to give you a little insight about my wonderful brokerage who awarded us with this great achievement. All three of these professionals have played a key role in my career and contributed to my success and where I am today.

First off, I can’t say enough great things about Hunter Mason Realty and how happy I’ve been while working here. It was started by Courtney and Anthony Self who lovingly named the company after their two beautiful sons Hunter and Mason. This is a testament to how we do business at our brokerage as well. We are a close knit family in house and treating our clients like family as well is a key value in the way we practice real estate. We don’t want to find you any house. We want to find you a home, one that you will love and be happy to come home to.

I must say the reason why I first chose to leave a large franchise real estate company in my early stages to join a smaller boutique brokerage was solely for this mindset and attitude much easier found in a more intimate setting. Sure we didn’t have a big household name or televised commercials, but there are things that a boutique brokerage offers that corporate franchises often don’t. I learned the benefit of this from Hunter Mason’s owner, Courtney Self. From the beginning of my relationship with Courtney, her goals and visions for her company have inspired me to excel and succeed in my own career. Her demeanor and way of business taught me to focus on being sincere and building genuine rapport between people I work with, whether it is a client, a lender, escrow/title officer, or leasing agent. Real people want to talk to real people and I have found it much easier to do business with someone that likes you, trusts you, and can call you their friend.

Her husband and co-owner Anthony Self has also been a great influence on my career. His work ethic and drive has created a brokerage that is centered around helping their agents achieve their real estate goals and dreams. One huge lesson that I am now applying in my own work from Anthony is the importance of technology in this day and age’s real estate industry. Anthony is one of the most tech savvy people I know.  Through him, I’ve learned that to get one’s name out there and to create a stamp for myself the internet, social media, blogs, web advertisment/marketing, and web communication can provide endless resources to help propel yourself and keep yourself afloat in this every changing industry. I am always available and open to referrals, questions, advice or anything that I can help you guys with regarding real estate or even if you want to just say hi and chat! I’m just a phone call or email away. If you don’t have too much time, don’t fret. I’m actively posting updates on facebook and the main reason I created this blog itself is to inform and keep in touch with those people that I can’t communicate with as frequently or haven’t had the pleasure of meeting yet. Another great idea I’ll be experimenting with is taking videos and making “virtual walk-throughs” of properties in case a client is too busy to stop by for the open house that day. They will have the luxury to take a sneak peak with a quick summary from me about the space without having to leave that important meeting or soccer game. We are all busy with places to go and people to see, and technology is something we can use to make it a little easier on all of us. I urge each one of you to use it to your advantage in any field you are in and know that I am serviceable to you in that and many more ways because of it. I know Anthony has used his knowledge to expand Hunter Mason to over four offices in Rolling Hills Estates, Redondo Beach, El Segundo, and Long Beach with over 30 agents in just a few years.

Among all the agents at the brokerage, I have met and been so lucky to form a partnership with Ursula Mix. Ursula has really helped pave the way for me in my career and shown me how to best serve our clients by being a huge wealth of knowledge. As cliche as it sounds, knowledge IS power. Our nickname for Ursula is “Bing” because you can ask her any question and 99.9% of the time she will have the answer for you off the top of her head or know where to find it. Working side by side with Ursula, she has inspired me to always be on top of the real estate market and know as much as I can so that I best serve my clients. I have treated real estate like an art form and made it a point to study it and perfect it. My personal goal is to be more informed and up to date than the next agent so that my client feels comfortable and confident in me. It is imperative and invaluable to keep up with the latest trends and statistics of the game.

On a more macroscopic level, I’ve learned the streets, grocery stores, local schools, gas prices, restaurants, (you name it) of the areas I work around so that I can provide as much information as I can to someone looking to buy. We all know there are many factors in buying a home and when your agent can help you find one that fits your lifestyle and needs then the whole process becomes that much easier when making a decision.

To  bring things to a close for this week, I’d just like to thank everyone for keeping up with me this far. It’s been 6 weeks and going strong! Here’s to many many more. Also if there are any suggestions or comments please share! I’d love to hear what you would like to read about and if there’s anything I can research and give my opinion on, I’d be more than happy to do so. After all this it for you. I also want to reiterate how humbled I am to be able stand next to three of the most inspiring top agents in my industry.  It is with out a doubt that having the privilege to work with them has brought me where I am today.
